This Paleo Low FODMAP Ranch Dressing is simple and so flavorful. Easy to make and great for dipping. Whole30, gluten free, dairy free, and low carb.
I have a super popular Paleo Ranch Dressing already on my site, but it's not low FODMAP and relies on garlic and onion powder for flavor, and that's just not possible anymore for us. Also, coconut milk is a "limit" food so I don't want to push it. This ranch is also good for people who really dislike coconut milk. Since it uses mayo as the base, there is no coconut flavor at all.
This ranch is a good consistency for dipping or mixing to make a chicken salad. If you want a thinner dressing for a salad, add a little almond or coconut milk to thin it out. It comes together in just minutes and stays good in the fridge for weeks.
You can use Paleo Homemade Mayo or buy a good quality store bought one. I'm just going to admit, more times than not, recently I just use store bought. It's easy and tasty. Primal Kitchen is my favorite and Whole30 compliant (not sponsored, just sharing.)
Low FODMAP
I created this recipe out of necessity. Finding a ranch dressing without onion or garlic is impossible, but wanting a tasty dressing for dipping is still possible. I decided to go with a mayonnaise base and some fresh and dried herbs. It comes together quickly and is so flavorful. Garlic oil and chives give this ranch the classic garlic and onion flavor, but without any stomach discomfort you may get.
I think you will love this creamy, thick, delicious dressing. Keep it on hand for veggies or an addition to meats.

I wonder how this would be with freeze dried chives and dried dill. I will definitely have to grow some chives and dill over the summer.
Jessica DeMay says
That would be delicious!

I can't have chives. Can I make this recipe without them?
Jessica DeMay says
Of course!

I made this tonight to eat with pizza (because who can eat pizza with no ranch?!) and it was delicious!! Coming from a traditional ranch with garlic and onion i was a bit skeptical! I did leave it a bit thicker but didnt mind. Will definitely keep your recipe on hand!

Could I use just regular avacado oil in place of garlic oil?
Michelle says
Such a great low FODMAP ranch! This is by far my favorite paleo ranch! I add about 1 tsp red wine vinegar for a little tanginess.

Thanks, Michelle! I'm so glad you like it!
